Active Rehabilitation
The iQuest Active Rehabilitation program is designed for clients with physical, psychosocial and/or medical barriers to recovery. The focus of is on return to work through physical and functional conditioning. The program can also be customized to include psychosocial and medical components based on client and referrer requirements.
Our Approach
Our interdisciplinary team of professionals develops a unique plan for each client. The core team includes a physical therapist or chiropractor and kinesiologist. Other clinicians who may be involved depending on the client’s needs include physicians, counselor, dietitian, mental coach, and clinical exercise physiologist.
Our approach relies on up-to-date evidence-based treatments, flexible service delivery and education to help clients manage their current problems and prevent future injuries.
The Process
Upon referral, iQuest Active Rehabilitation clients undergo a medical assessment, physical therapy assessment, functional screening, and baseline fitness evaluation. iQuest then consults with the client and with the referrer to develop a rehabilitation plan. These plans include recommendations for specific treatments, approximate time frames and cost estimates.

Assessment Services:
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Functional Capacity Evaluations provide objective information about an individual’s ability to perform work tasks and activities of daily living. These evaluations are conducted by certified evaluators. Tasks tested include lifting, pushing and pulling, repetitive tasks for the upper extremities, precision tasks such as finger dexterity; and postural tolerances such as sitting, standing and walking. Standardized measures of consistency of effort and symptom report are incorporated into the assessment protocol. The FCE comes with a comprehensive report with specific recommendations regarding readiness to return to work, rehabilitation recommendations, and graduated return to work recommendations.
Cardiac Functional Capacity Evaluation:
iQuest offers a unique Cardiac Functional Capacity Evaluation for individuals who are off work due to cardiac health issues. iQuest’s Physiotherapist responsible for this service is a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, ACSM Exercise Specialist, and Matheson trained Functional Capacity Evaluator. The FCE is conducted in conjunction with other measures of heart function including ECG to determine a safe level of exertion. This information can then be used to develop an appropriate return to work plan.
Sample reports are available upon request.
